I see myself as a fellow traveller finding my own path just as you are, discovering my dharma. I know that I am my most vital and joyful self when I am able to share my presence and compassion with others. The best way I have found for myself to do this has been through the inter-twining roles of counsellor, a yoga and nature therapist, and as a musician.
After several years working with youth and adults with developmental disabilities in England and Canada, I went to Boulder, CO for a MA in Counselling Psychology with a focus in Wilderness Therapy. Upon graduating in 2007 I furthered my studies by studying yoga with Prana Yoga College in Vancouver, and in Yoga Therapy in Vermont.
Along with my private practice in yoga and nature therapies, I also practice as a clinical counsellor at Jericho Counselling, as a mental health worker at Coast Foundation Centre, and teach yoga primarily with Exhale Studio.
We all need to be heard, and my training as a counsellor has aided me greatly in being a solid and unconditionally compassionate presence and to begin to shift the way clients consciously use our mind. We also need to access the subconscious to assist in our growth and healing, and therefore I also incorporate body-centered, meditative,
yoga-inspired, and nature-based practices.
